Maison Dada “Rose Sélavy” (hairdresser)

Designer - Thomas Dariel

Hairdresser Rose Sélavy takes her name from the fictional character created by French artist and Dadaist Marcel Duchamp. Rose Sélavy is an ode to femininity. The table features a finely designed jewelry box, an imposing circular mirror in its center as well as a smaller mirror which can be separated from the dressing table and then used as a hand mirror.
Marquetry, a decorative surface technique that requires talent and precision, comes from the French word meaning 'inlay of materials'. An art of creating decorative designs with veneer contrasts, an entirely handmade process. With this technique, we add an element of style and creativity to this already very original piece of furniture.
